The New York Islanders have added eight more games to their regular-season schedule at their former home http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-bo-scarbrough-jersey , Nassau Coliseum at NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York.
The Islanders played the last three seasons at Barclays Center in Brooklyn http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-taron-johnson-jersey , but it was not a popular move with their fans and the arena is more suited for basketball than hockey. They are building a new arena at Belmont Park, but will split their home games next season between Brooklyn and Uniondale.
Previously set to play 12 games at the revamped Coliseum http://www.49ersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jeremiah-attaochu-jersey , they now will have 20 in the 2018-19 season. The Belmont arena is scheduled to open in 2021.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo made the announcement Thursday about the added games at the Coliseum, saying: ”We’re bringing the Islanders home to Long Island and to the fans who have supported their team for decades. Until the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art arena at Belmont Park http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-anthony-averett-jersey , the Islanders will reunite with their fans at Nassau Coliseum and build momentum for a long-awaited homecoming.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed inside linebacker Jon Bostic to a two-year contract.
Details of the deal were not disclo
sed and it will not be finalized until after Bostic undergoes a physical on Monday.
The 26-year-old Bostic played 14 games for Indianapolis last season, getting 97 tackles and one sack. Bostic injured his right knee against Denver in December and finished the season on injured reserve. Pittsburgh is Bostic’s fifth stop.
Bostic began his career with Chicago after being taken in the second round of the 2013 draft. He played two seasons in Chicago then one in New England before the Patriots traded him to Detroit in 2016. He missed the entire season in Detroit with a foot injury before joining the Colts.
The Steelers are in need of depth at inside linebacker with Ryan Shazier already ruled out for 2018 because of a spinal injury suffered in Cincinnati in December.
