It seems like it’s been a while since a Bears player was winning one of the weekly awards, but such is life when the team manages just a handful of wins per year.Following a dominating defensive performance, inside linebacker Danny Trevathan has been named Defensive Player of the Week, according to the Chicago Bears official Twitter.Trevathan led the Bears with eight tackles, two sacks, a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and two QB hits.On a night where once again the talk was all about Khalil Mack, Trevathan somehow missed a lot of the glory, but he absolutely balled out.Trevathan is the first Bears player to win it since safety Eddie Jackson won it in Week 7 last year after his two-score performance against Carolina.Former Bears kicker Robbie Gould was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the 49ers, and Chicago’s week 4 opponent, Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, was named Offensive Player of the Week.On the AFC side Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Colts LB Darius Leonard and Titans safety and trick-play touchdown scorer Dane Cruikshank were the AFC winners for offense, defense and special teams, respectively.
